I have read your book and found it immensely helpful and affirming. I am amazed at how much you have managed to achieve through these times. I also carry the duel role of being a medical doctor and someone who has depression, be it much less severe, and so much is pertinent. My hopes and aspirations both in medicine and ministry have to date been spoiled by my limitations. I would love to read a book by Phil, the husband, and how he feels about his life past and present. This not least because I feel my husband, also medical, has paid a heavy price in being married to me! We have three young children.

Thankyou Emma for your comments - it is difficult when you are in medicine, and indeed any other vocation. Phil has been asked to write a book by a few people and maybe one day he will. He wrote a chapter in my other book 'Life After Darkness' which was published in 2006! I am glad you felt that 'Thorn' was helpful to you. I want it to get out to many more people, especially church leaders!

Hi, I've been dipping into your book recently, having found it at the bottom of a pile! In fact I've just realised I quoted you in an article I've just submitted to this site! Hope you don't mind!
